BAIS insurance technology increases focus on infrastructure and client support with new appointment.

David Hampton

BAIS insurance technology is continuing its growth plans with the appointment of

Greg Joannou as Infrastructure and Customer Support Manager. Greg will spearhead the closer integration of system infrastructure and customer support functions, to ensure customers get what they want and enjoy the BAIS experience.

The company chose to appoint from its own experienced team, describing Greg as having the strongest skill set for the role. The all-Australian based team boasts an average tenure in excess of ten years, with the vast majority skilled in both insurance and IT.

The newly created position of Infrastructure and Customer Support Manager is a recognition that the closer the alignment of technology infrastructure to that of supporting customers, the better the level of service delivery.

Greg started at BAIS 15 years ago, after completing his work experience there while at TAFE. He has been responsible for the migration of the BAIS infrastructure to Amazon Web Services to further improve clients’ cloud-based experience. This has boosted the performance of the iBAIS insurance system and increased reliability.

BAIS Chief Executive, David Hampton, said, “It’s always good to see home-grown talent being stretched, moved forward and taking on new responsibilities. Greg is already part of the BAIS leadership team and it is his can-do attitude that helped in formalising this role.”

He added, “Greg brings extensive experience of insurance technology, which means he is adept at talking to clients in their own language and effectively translating their technology requirements.”
